The gardens have also seen major improvements this year with Terri back out of retirement and back at the helm with Sue relieved of her café duties (most of the time) she is working full time with her on the gardens. The Ward ladies also have the valued help of Russell Sharp, an old friend and customer, formally head gardener at Portmeirion. The ‘we refuse to retire team’ are proving the best gardening team we have ever had and have produced fantastic displays of flowers this year. Better than over the previous years with a younger crew. The saying goes: "Old age and treachery will always beat youth & exuberance." Or as John’s saying goes, "it’s the only place in the country where two people push the same wheel barrow …"

Not all things with age are of value... and that could certainly be said for the old shed which has been completely rebuilt by our builder, Russ! It's part of the major rennovations we have been undertaking for the past 18 months which has also included the new Tearooms.
